Once again I’ve managed to come up with a modification, or rather a nice conversion, for the game Looping Louie. Now that my new Prusa i3 3D printer is finally fully assembled and ready for action, I was able to pick up an old idea again.
Until now it has always been very tedious to convert a Looping Louie game to eight players. Most conversions are based on a base plate onto which four more arms are then screwed. The whole thing becomes very hard to transport and very unwieldy. That’s why I’ve been looking for a simple solution to this problem for quite some time.
So without further ado I designed a connector piece in OpenSCAD. Unfortunately, the first design (on the left in the photo) didn’t fit exactly. So I reworked the design once more. The result is a short connector piece that can be glued to the base of the game. Superglue or hot glue have turned out to be suitable.
I’ll try to offer this version in my shop. Another idea is/was to make the whole thing usable without any glue at all. I tried that too, as you can see in the article picture (top) and in the following pictures. The result is a clip-on adapter for the other arms, which provides an outrigger for one additional arm each.
Because of the long print times, I probably won’t be offering this version for sale in my shop for the time being.
A new version of my Looping Louie tuning kit is coming soon. The new version brings lots of new possibilities that no other mod has offered so far.
Everyone who already owns the first version of the Kamikaze Louie kit can rest easy, because there will be an upgrade kit.

Anyone who owns a 3D printer or has access to one can print this adapter themselves. You can find the files at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:118022
So that I can roughly gauge how much interest there is in this 8-player Looping Louie mod, leave a comment. If you liked this post, I’d be very grateful if you shared it.
