On September 7 and 8, a Mini Makerfaire took place in Kerkrade on the Dutch border, close to Aachen.
The museum “Discovery Center Continium” offered the best atmosphere you could imagine for a Makerfaire. Alongside fab labs and a great many other exhibitors, I was there with a booth of my own.
I showed my projects built from scrap, such as the toilet paper printer and the 3D printer, but also a few new things. Among them the prototype of the Looping Louie “Autopilot” and the Looping Louie Mind Flex hack.
For now, these two projects are only meant as a preview of the next two articles. In the upcoming articles I will describe in detail what these two Looping Louie extensions are all about.
But the 8-player Looping Louie adapter and my Kamikaze Louie tuning kit for changing the game speed attracted a lot of interest once again, too.

Kids in particular had a lot of fun with the new Looping Louie hack.
Because my booth was so busy, I unfortunately didn’t have enough time to take pictures of the other exhibitors. So at this point I’ll refer you to the more detailed reports on other blogs:
All in all, the Mini Makerfaire Kerkrade was a great success, and one can only hope for another edition next year. I already have a few new ideas for possible Makerfaire projects in 2014.
To wrap up, here is a video by René Bohne, which can also be found on his YouTube channel. By the way, you’ll also find some videos there of past Dorkbot meetups in Aachen, where I show up with my projects every now and then.
